A few hours after the last name of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season was used, we saw the Greek Alphabet used. The odd low pressure system I had been wondering about for about a week was recognized as Sub Tropical Storm Alpha.
Wow.
Tropical Depression 22 is close to being named — in fact it was expected to be either Wilfred or Alpha depending on the timing. Those of us in that camp were expecting the NHC to ignore what is now Alpha until the year end review.

Stay safe!
